Blueskeye AI shortlisted for Digital Leaders “Emerging Tech of the Year” Award

Blueskeye AI, a leading provider of machine learning technology for affective and social signal analysis, has been shortlisted for the Emerging Tech of the Year Award by the Digital Leaders community.

Blueskeye was named as one of the 100 most impressive digital transformation organisations in the UK. Blueskeye will be up against nine other Tech innovators at an awards ceremony in Leeds on 22 June.

In shortlisting Blueskeye,  judges described the company’s use of machine learning technology  to analyse affective and social signals from face and voice data to infer emotion, mood and mental state, having the potential to change healthcare in the UK and beyond. Whilst primarily focussed on perinatal mental health the company is also working with  globally recognised automotive, and social robotics brands.

Professor Michel Valstar, Founding CEO of Blueskeye AI welcomed the nomination saying,

“UK Mental Health is in crisis, around 1 in 5 women experience a perinatal mental health problem and our technology addresses this significant need. We are developing software to the highest, clinical, standards to support mums and mums to be, their clinicians and their friends and family better assess and manage their mental health.

In Summer 2021 we launched Avocado, an app, which engages mums to be in interactive tasks in order to automatically assess and respond to mood changes during their fertility, pregnancy and postpartum journeys. It has been used by 200,000 mums so far. We are now working with Nottinghamshire NHS Trusts to undertake trials to evidence the clinical safety of the technology in an app designed to assist in health assessments of pregnant women.”

Digital Leaders is a community of  180,000  senior leaders from different sectors promoting effective, long-term digital transformation to promote economic growth, increase social well-being and narrow social gaps across the UK.
