Blueskeye Becomes Among The First 100 Companies to Join the EU AI Pact
Blueskeye AI, a global leader in transforming healthcare, wellbeing, automotive, and social robotics with advanced emotional intelligence, today announced its commitment to responsible AI by joining the European Union AI Pact. As one of the first 100 companies to sign the Pact, Blueskeye reaffirms its dedication to developing and deploying AI technologies that prioritise ethical considerations, transparency, and accountability.
The EU AI Pact is a voluntary initiative launched by the European Commission in November 2023 whilst the EU AI Act entered into force in August 2024, to promote the development and use of artificial intelligence (AI) in Europe that is trustworthy, ethical, and human-centric. The core commitments of the EU AI Pact include adopting an AI governance strategy for the uptake of AI, mapping AI systems developed or used in areas considered high-risk under the AI Act, and promoting AI literacy among staff and other persons dealing with the deployment of AI systems on their behalf. The Pact aims to ensure that AI is developed and used in a way that benefits society as a whole, while protecting fundamental rights and values.
Blueskeye leverages machine learning to understand human behaviour through face and voice analysis AI, objectively and automatically interpreting medically relevant expressed behaviour. The company's solutions have applications across various industries, including healthcare, automotive, social robotics, consumer research, and more.
"Joining the EU AI Pact is a significant milestone for Blueskeye," said Professor Michel Valstar, co-founder and Chief Evangelist and Scientific Officer at Blueskeye AI. "We believe that AI has the potential to revolutionise how we interpret medically relevant expressed behaviour, but it is essential that we develop and use AI responsibly. The Pact's principles align perfectly with our own values, and we are proud to be part of this global effort to ensure that AI benefits society as a whole."
The Pact's Commission is working collaboratively with participants like Blueskeye, supporting them in implementing the AI Act, sharing knowledge, and increasing the visibility and credibility of the safeguards put in place to demonstrate trustworthy AI. This collective effort aims to build greater trust in AI technologies overall, enabling leading participants to test and share their AI solutions to the wider community.
