2024: A year of breakthroughs for BLUESKEYE AI
Our team at BLUESKEYE AI has had a very, very successful 2024. Looking back, 2024 will stand out as pivotal for its success in years to come. We started the year at our stand at CES making promises of what would be possible with our technology, and boy did we deliver. We will now go into 2025 with two feature-full, fully validated and industry tested products. What’s more, we’ve now completed our validation efforts to demonstrate that our core technology is the very best out there.
Here’s what we achieved:
We have achieved better than human apparent emotion recognition
Blueskeye’s facial point tracker is 3x more accurate than Google’s Mediapipe
The face detection error is half that of Google’s Mediapipe
Facial muscle action detection is 2x more accurate than OpenFace 2.2.0
We had our first-participant-in with 3 different clinical trials
Our technology is highly robust to head pose and other nuisance factors
We’ve shown to be unbiased to individual differences of age, gender, and ethnicity
We were awarded two patents
The list goes on, but these are the ones I’m personally most proud of.
Today, we already serve the Automotive, Health, and Social Robotics markets. Our world-beating capabilities are packaged in two SDKs that are in active use by a steadily growing list of household-name enterprise customers as well as some of the most prestigious universities around the world (e.g. University of Southern California, Sorbonne University, the University of Nottingham and Queen’s University Belfast). Feedback from our commercial partners indicates we exceed expectations over and over again, and the first academic study results show that Blueskeye’s technology is a game-changer in psychology, computer science, human factors and medicine, to start with.
Blueskeye offers its technology to more than one market sector. Some look with alarm at the different customers and sectors we engage with, wary of what they view as a lack of focus. It doesn’t fit their overtly formulaic mould that is increasingly used by ever more risk averse investors (But ah! No risk, no reward eh?). I think that’s wrong, at many levels, but I shrug it off. They don’t see how immense our ambition is, how wide, deep, and long-term our vision. And for every 99 nay-sayers there is one who does share our vision (you know who you are!).
Because here’s what’s at stake. Just look at the possibilities to make a positive impact on people’s lives!
Think of social robots looking after the elderly and providing companionship to young children undergoing cancer care.
Think of the serious, life-changing medical conditions that can be detected early or prevented altogether.
Think of travel being a safer and more enjoyable experience.
Think of consumer research that doesn’t require form-filling and yet delivers better results than currently even imaginable.
Powered by Blueskeye technology, robots will become truly empathetic, early detection of disease will be possible, and objective measures of emotion will inform better decision making.
BLUESKEYE AI aims for nothing less than to create the very best measures of social, emotional, and medically relevant expressive behaviour, delivered by ethical AI, to make the world a better place together with our partners.
We firmly believe what we do is world-changing and I’m proud to be part of the amazing team that is making it happen every day, step by step.
